From 8 to 10 July, HKYIGF Internet Governance Training Camp was successfully held in Chinese University of Hong Kong. 45 secondary students from various schools have shown their big interest in Internet Governance. They seized the opportunity to learn from the honorable guests from industry, government and NGOs during workshops. By attending the interactive activities, delivering presentation about leveraging ICT to reach SDGs, one-minute individual speech on interested IG topics, making a short video on Safer Internet collaboratively, etc., the participants not only got to understand different aspects of Internet Governance, but also experienced the discussion model in IGF. We are impressed with the students’ performance and enthusiasm.
On 16th July, HKYIGF Summit was successfully held in Boys & Girls’ Club Association Headquarters. 45 secondary students from various schools attended the roundtable discussion on topics ‘Privacy & Security’, Freedom of Speech & Hate Speech’ and ‘Human Rights’, which were the areas of focus selected by the participants during the HKYIGF Camp. Meanwhile, it is our honour to invite Mr. Elvis Ng from Hong Kong Family Welfare Society, Miss Meg Fung from Microsoft Hong Kong, Miss Ayee Man Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, and Mr. Edmon Chung from DotAsia Organisation to join the discussion as panelists. We would also like to congratulate Li Wai Yin who was awarded the Best Knowledge Award, and Ng Hong Yu Jenny with the Best Performance Award.
