Envisioning SMART: Cultivating a Human-Centric Digital Future 智見未來：共築以人為本的數位新時代
HKyIGF 2025 will build on the foundations of HKyIGF 2024's "Prompting a SMART Digital Economy". It delves into the second edition of the SMART Digital Economy, emphasizing the concrete actions and collaborative efforts needed to cultivate a truly human-centric digital future for Hong Kong. This year, we will explore how to deepen the SMART model - Sustainability, Multistakeholder-valued, Accountability, Resilience, and Trust of our digital landscape, moving beyond theoretical frameworks to examine practical applications, policy innovations and community-led initiatives that ensure technology serves the well-being and equitable development of all. The forum will focus on empowering youth and fostering cross-sector dialogue to shape a digital economy that is not only smart but also inherently inclusive, ethical and empowering for every individual in Hong Kong's ongoing transformation into a world-famed Smart City.
An overview of Internet Protocol fundamentals demystified associated Internet concepts through games, equipping youth with an understanding and the set of language essential for Internet governance discussions.
Dynamic discussions with a focus on the 2024 APrIGF thematic tracks with a wide array of perspectives, prompting participants to think critically as they formulate their own views on Internet governance.
With a diverse set of perspectives delivered by thought leaders across stakeholder groups on longstanding and emerging Internet governance matters, participants gained broader insights into the intricacies and controversies of the Internet.
Open dialogues and networking happens throughout the Forum! Youth were encouraged to express ideas, ask questions and exchange thoughts among participants and speakers whenever appropriate.
Empower youth in Hong Kong to be competent digital citizens and fortify the multistakeholder model of Internet governance with equitable youth engagement in decision-making processes.
Spur of the moment decision to attend the Hong Kong Youth Internet Governance Forum last week turned out to be a goldmine! Learned a ton about internet governance policies and got to pick the brains of some seriously impressive people in the field. Feeling inspired and ready to contribute to shaping the digital future!
